What's for Dinner? Antipasto: Crostini con Fagioli, Spaghetti with Pesto and Spring Vegetables

Pretty much a grown-up 'toast on beans'. We went fishing on the Grand today, and I managed to catch 1 fish the whole day - ironically the first cast of my line... and the last. I caught a nice 15inch brown bass, but the man from the tackle shop insisted it was a "practice fish". Oh well! I intended to BBQ a fish whole, flake it, then top it on a rich toasted bread and drizzle it with good olive oil.
Because the fish didn't exactly work out, I used black-eyed beans. Mashed with a bit of fresh sage from the farm and garnished with fried sage. The crostinis were rubbed with garlic before toasting.

The spaghetti was cooked al-dente and coated in a fresh pesto: basil from the garden, pine nuts, s&p, 2 garlic cloves, good EV olive oil, 1 garlic scape (added a huge POW!!) and then tossed with chopped asparagus and early zucchinis. And of course... topped with a fantastic amount of quality Parmigano Regiano.
